I have had three dental implants that failed and Surgical Esthetic bone was used on my last dental implant and it is the only one that has stuck! When I do my next two implants this fall I will make sure my Dentist uses this bone again!!! It really made a significant difference in how I healed!

As a fresh dentist out of school 7 years ago I started using surgical esthetics bone graft materials to eventually accumulate an impressive portfolio of bone regeneration in implant dentistry. I have used many other brands but my go to is Surgical Esthetics as I approach my success of over 1000 cases done...

High quality products and excellent customer service. I've had a lot of success with their bone allografts and now use them exclusively. I also really like their PTFE products, especially the Monotex sutures.

Common questions from General Dentists, Periodontists, and Oral Surgeons about allograft, xenograft, and regenerative material selection.
An autograft is bone harvested from the patient's own body and remains the biological benchmark. An allograft is human donor bone processed by an accredited tissue bank — it offers osteoconductive, and in demineralized forms osteoinductive, potential without a second surgical site. A xenograft is derived from another species, most commonly bovine, and resorbs very slowly, which makes it well suited to maintaining ridge volume over time.
Mineralized allograft retains its native mineral content, so it resorbs more slowly and holds space well in defects that need volume stability. Demineralized bone matrix has had the mineral phase removed, exposing bone morphogenetic proteins and giving the graft osteoinductive potential. Many clinicians combine the two to balance space maintenance with faster biological turnover.
Cortical particulate is dense, resorbs slowly, and helps maintain the shape of the graft site. Cancellous particulate is porous, vascularizes quickly, and is replaced by host bone more rapidly. A cortico-cancellous blend gives you the structural persistence of cortical bone with the faster remodeling of cancellous bone.
As a general planning guide, a single-rooted extraction socket typically takes 0.25–0.5cc, a molar site 0.5–1.0cc, and a moderate lateral ridge augmentation 1.0–2.0cc. Sinus elevations vary widely with residual ridge height and often require 2.0cc or more. Your territory manager can help you build a par level that matches your actual case mix.
No. All allograft and xenograft materials are supplied sterile for single-patient, single-use application. Once a package is opened it must be used for that patient during that procedure, and any remaining material must be discarded. This is a regulatory requirement as well as a patient safety one.
Yes. Our allograft tissue is recovered and processed by AATB-accredited tissue banks under FDA registration. Every donor goes through medical and social history screening, physical assessment, and third-party serological testing. Processing includes validated disinfection and terminal sterilization, and each lot is traceable from donor to the practice that receives it.
