CollaShield® Extend Long Term Collagen Membrane

CollaShield® Extend is a long-lasting resorbable porcine collagen membrane formulated for cases requiring extended barrier function. Its slower resorption profile makes it ideal for larger or more complex regenerative procedures.
Barrier strength for the long haul.
Extended barrier function — compared to standard CollaShield®.
Resorbs in 6–9 months.
Maintains structural integrity for longer healing periods.
Biocompatible and resorbable — without secondary surgery.
Flexible, easy to trim — and adaptable to different defect sizes.
Supports angiogenesis and bone regeneration.
Very high tensile strength — can be tacked or sutured.
Indications for Use
CollaShield® Extend is indicated as a long-term resorbable barrier in applications such as:
- Large or complex GBR procedures requiring prolonged barrier function.
- Ridge augmentation and peri-implant defects.
- Horizontal and vertical bone regeneration.
- Sinus floor elevation procedures.
Why Cross-Linked?
- Proven chemistry – formaldehyde cross-linking used for decades in heart valves, dural repair, and spinal bone grafts
- Clinically studied – a 2025 multicenter RCT of 170+ patients (Wang et al., J Periodont Res) found it effective 96.5% of the time
- Lot tested – residual cross-linkers verified well below release specifications
- Regulatory – tested under ISO 10993 and FDA cleared
- Exposure tolerant – maintains barrier function even with accidental exposure
- Technique – overlap defect margins by at least 2–3 mm on all sides
